Hõimkonda kuulub ainult neli perekonda: Caldimicrobium, Geothermobacterium, Thermodesulfatator ja Thermodesulfobacterium.

Tüüpliigid on Thermodesulfatator indicus ja Thermodesulfobacterium commune.
