Core baasil protsessoritel puudub Hyper-Threading tehnoloogia mis oli Pentium 4 protsessorites. See on kuna Core mikroarhitektuur on arenenud P6 mikroarhitektuurist mida kasutati Pentium Pro, Pentium II, Pentium III ja Pentium M protsessorites. Veel puudub Core 2-s L3 vahemälu mis oli Gallatin tuumas Pentium 4 Extreme Edition-ist, kuigi L3 vahemälu on olemas kõrgtaseme Core-il põhinevatle Xeon-itel ja Hyper-Threading on osadel Atom protsessoritel. Nii L3 vahemälu kui ka Hyper-threading on olemas praegustel Nehalem ja Westmere protsessoritel.
