===Tootmine===
2010. aasta detsembris tootis SpaceX uue Falcon 9 raketi (ja Dragoni kosmosekapsli) iga kolme kuu tagant.

===Õhkutõusude ajalugu===
Falcon 9 on 2017. aasta 30. oktoobri seisuga lennanud kokku 44 korda, nendest lendudest on 42 olnud täielikult edukad, 1 on täielikult ebaõnnestunud ja 1 lennu puhul jõudis peamine last õigele orbiidile, aga sekundaarne last jäi plaanitust madalamale orbiidile. Lisaks hävines üks rakett stardiplatvormil enne õhkutõusu, kui rutiinse staatilise testi käigus rakett plahvatas.

==Disain==
Falcon 9 on kaheastmeline suure kandevõimega kanderakett, mis kasutab kütusena vedelat hapnikku ja [[RP-1]] raketikütust. Mõlemad astmed kasutavad Merlin 1D raketimootoreid, esimene aste kasutab 9 mootorit ja teine aste kasutab 1 mootorit. Esimese astme mootorid on optimeeritud töötamaks maapinnal ja teise astme mootor on optimeeritud töötama vaakumis. Esimese astme mootorid asetsevad nn. "Octawebi" konfiguratsioonis.
 
Paljudel rakettidel on esimesele astmele ka kinnitatud neli jalga mille abil raketi esimene aste pärast lendu maanduda saab. Lisaks on nendel rakettidel ka nn. "ruutuimed" mille abil saab raketti maandumise ajal juhtida.
 
Raketi kütusepaakide seinad ja otsad on tehtud alumiinium-liitium sulamiost. Komponendid on üksteise külge kinnitatud kasutades [[hõõrdkeevitus|hõõrdkeevitust]], mis on kõige tugevam ja vastupidavam keevitusmeetod.
 
Teise astme kütusepaak on väga sarnane esimese astme kütusepaagile, olles lihtsalt oluliselt lühem. Selline disain lubab SpaceX-il kasutada mõlema astme ehitamisel srnaseid ehitusmeetodeid, mis aitab kulusid kokku hoida.
 
Kahe astme vahel on süsinikkiust alumiiniumsüdamikuga vaheaste, mis ühendab kaks astet omavahel.
 
Lasti kaitseks on õhkutõusu ajal lasti ümber kaitsev ümbris, mis eraldub pärast maa atmosfäärist välja jõudmist. Kaitsev ümbris on ehitatud samast materjalist nagu vaheaste.
