Dürensteini lahing

Dürensteini lahing oli kokkupõrge 11. novembril 1805 Napoleoni sõdade Kolmanda koalitsiooni sõja ajal. Lahing leidis aset 73 kilomeetrit Viinist ülesvoolu asuvad Dürensteinis (tänapäeva Dürnstein, Austria) Doonau Wachau orus. Jõgi teeb Dürnsteini ja Krems an der Donau vahel sirbikujulise kurvi, lahing toimus jõe ja mägede vahele tekkinud lammil.

Vene ja Austria väed võtsid Dürensteinis lõksu Théodore Maxime Gazani juhitud Prantsuse diviisi. Lõksu langenud diviis kuulus vastformeeritud VIII korpuse koosseisu, mida juhtis Édouard Mortier. Mortier oli Baierist taganevaid austerlasi jälitades oma kolm diviisi Doonau põhjakaldal liiga laiali ajanud ning koalitsioonivägede juhatajal Mihhail Kutuzovil õnnestus meelitada Gazani diviis kahe Vene väeüksuse vahelisse orgu lõksu. Gazani päästis õigeaegselt appi jõudnud Pierre Dupont de l'Étangi diviis. Dürensteini lahing jätkus ööpimedusse ning mõlemad osapooled kuulutasid end võitjaks. Prantslased kaotasid enam kui kolmandiku oma vägedest, Gazani diviis üle 40 protsendi. Austerlased ja venelased kandsid samuti suuri kaotusi (ligi 16 protsenti), sellest märgilisem oli ühe Austria võimekaima staabiülema Johann Heinrich von Schmitti hukkumine.

Dürensteini lahing toimus kolm nädalat pärast Austria armee kapituleerumist Ulmi lahingus ning kolm nädalat enne Vene-Austria lüüasaamist Austerlitzi lahingus, pärast mida Austria sõjast lahkus. Prantslased nõudsid lahingu eest suurt hüvitist ning Franz II astus Saksa-Rooma keisri troonilt maha. Sellega vabastas ta ka Saksa kuurvürstid Saksa-Rooma Riigi alluvusest.
